Got one of those forwarded e-mails today which encourages everyone to add their cell phones on the “do not call” registry because beginning January 1, 2005 telemarketing companies will have access to all cell phone numbers and that they could conceivably start inundating us with calls. And, of course,we’ll have to pay for the calls because they’re on our cell phones, blah blah. The e-mail encouraged everyone to register by December 15, 2004 so that our names would be on the list when the 1/1/05 date hit.
I searched under the FTC website, but no mention was made of a change in law. But went to DoNotCall.gov site anyone and registered my cell phone numbers for the hell of it. But I felt a little foolish.
Anyone know if this is a UL?
