Is this content fit for children? Or is that part of the appeal for Kegbreath- desensitize children to the real, non-game killing of whoever you deem an enemy? What are we, ancient Sparta?
We are getting further and further away from being a civilized society.
It’s not fit for anyone, and it’s not fit to exist (televised or not).
If the US did this consider the company they’d have that also do this:
In the last four years, the only public killings documented by Amnesty were in Iran and Afghanistan.
But Amnesty only reports on judicial executions and does not have numbers for China, North Korea and Vietnam, where executions are believed to be carried out. It has noted that it has received reports of public executions in North Korea that it couldn’t verify.
In 2021, at least nine people were publicly executed in Yemen, Amnesty said.
Saudi Arabia also conducted public executions in the past, but not in recent years. - SOURCE
ETA: For a moment I was thinking that maybe televising the execution for the public might have a good result in that it would shock the collective conscience and lead to real changes when it comes to executions. Thinking about it for one more second I realized I no longer have that faith in my fellow Americans to be shocked by something like this.
To desensitize the entire country. And to feed the bloodlust of those who already have it. Start with actual murderers, and you can work up gradually to the politician who criticized the Powers that Be, and then to the schoolteacher who dared teach evolution.
There is a very long stretch between “sometimes it’s necessary to kill somebody” and “we ought to make a public party out of it.” Even the first strikes me as dubious in this case, though it may be true in others; but the second is indefensible.
Hegseth is the same guy who “renamed” the DoD the Department of War, because he’s tough. Livestreaming an execution is something only a tough guy would think of. Like the guys who cut off Daniel Pearl’s head. I’m sure Hegseth admires those guys due to how tough they were.
Well, if they must have firing squads, I can only wish Kegbreath would face one for his summary executions. I would probably watch that one.
This. Most of you are probably familiar with the term NSFW (“not safe for work”), but this would fall under a different term I’ve seen sometimes: NSFL (“not safe for life”).
Having the Death Penalty at all is bad enough. Televising it? That’s some North Korea type shit.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was asked by CBS News about the idea of livestreaming the execution of the Fort Hood shooter. He was unable or unwilling to say that he opposes the idea. Instead, he attributes any opposition to unnamed others.
“There are colleagues who have concerns,” Johnson told national correspondent and chief Washington analyst Robert Costa in an interview. “The concern would be that you would create a video that would be a recruiting tool for future terrorists. You know, we’ve got to think through the policy implications of all that. I wouldn’t be watching it if it was aired. But there’s a lot of opinions on that. I think there’s still some time to talk about that. … I need to tell the White House what some of my colleagues think about that, and not everybody is in favor of the idea.”
“There’s a lot of opinions…”
What a fucking douchebag. There are 2 opinions. There are a lot of people.
Congratulations America, the Islamic terrorists have trolled you into live airing your executions, too. Welcome to the civilzed world!
We’re providing content for Islamic terrorist group recruitment videos.
Yeah, it’s a vicious circle.
At this point, it hasn’t yet happened. For now all it is is runny mouth feces from a deranged pile of shit.
(The execution itself, that will happen certainly. The people driving it call themselves “pro life”.)
Are some of them Catholic? The Pope and your Bishop would want a word with you about life and death…
I don’t have a bishop, thank you very much.
Oh sorry, I meant the general “you”, not you specifically at all.
