My New Every Two plan is up so I get a new phone through Verizonwireless. I want to get a phone with more functionality and I like what I see about the LG Voyager Titanium…
…but I’d like to hear any first-hand opinions from someone who has one… anyone here have that phone?
I don’t have the Titanium, but I own a Voyager and I can tell you it’s awesome. The touch screen is very easy to use, and it comes with lots of cool tools like the navigator, mp3 player, a good camera, Mobile IM, email, etc. If you don’t use those things then you may as well buy a cheaper phone. The keyboard is wonderful. It has a few glitches, like resetting itself at random (mostly during IM conversations) but that’s supposed to be fixed in the big software upgrade, so I assume the Titanium doesn’t have that problem. Thanks to my Voyager I was able to read the Dope all summer while my internet was cut off, so it’s been a lifesaver and worth every penny. (Mine wasn’t an upgrade so I paid nearly $600 for it.) I understand the Titanium to be a slightly more finances-friendly version of the Voyager, so the touch screen may be smaller and it may have fewer features. I think it’s sexy anyway.
I think it’s reasonable to revive this thread rather than starting a new one. I’m hoping that since a few months have gone by, maybe a few more folks have the phone, and I’m curious myself. I just bought it after doing a little bit of research, but I’d still like to hear about the experience of others.
My daughter has had a Voyager since May of last year. She has had it replaced by Verizon 3 times since then because of various problems including the battery charge connection becoming faulty, the backlight in the keyboard burning out, and the touch screen acting flaky. Other than that, it has been a fine phone.
I got 2 Voyager titanium’s for my kids. The fold out qwerty keyboard is much superior to the iPhone touch screen for typing but the iPhone is so much neater overall I would proabbly have gotten that for them if Verizon supported it.
Does anybody actually use the TV functionality? I get to play with it for free for the first month, but after having the phone less than a day, I’m thinking I’m not likely to hold on to this feature, especially if they’re going to want me to pay for it. The channels are far too limited to make it worthwhile.
