Tell me about greasemonkey (firefox addon)

Greasemonkey.

I kind of get the idea, I guess, but I’m having trouble thinking of ways I’d use it.

Do you use this extension? In what ways?

I use it mainly for one thing: google image ripper. Other than that, I also got greasefire to help me find addons for the page I’m on, but I don’t find myself using it much.

That google image ripper website is awesome! Never seen it before. How does greasemonkey affect it?

If you look on the bottom right, there’s a little box that says Greasemonkey script available. Click install, and now the code that does the image ripping will go to work via greasemonkey for every google image search you do.

I am using it right now for the SDMB as an autopagerizer. Whenever you scroll to the bottom of a page, it automatically loads the next page beneath it, so I don’t have to click “Next.”

I’m sorry, somehow I missed these last two comments. How specifically can I make the SDMB do that?

Hm. Did this, and no change to google image search. What am I doing wrong?

Whenever I install a new script, I usually have to turn greasemonkey off, then back on, then refresh the page I was looking at for the script to take effect.

Personally, I almost exclusively use greasemonkey scripts to aid in my fantasy sports conquests. Baseball especially. There are all sorts of scripts available for Yahoo! Fantasy Sports, from free “stat tracker” scripts, to various ways to compile stats that Y! itself doesn’t provide.
