Gah, I know you can’t expect much from random fellowships to begin with, but I’m really getting sick of trying to find pick-up groups with my captain- I know from experience that he’s massively useful for most well-organized teams, but the entire server’s attitude seems to be “Captains suck at everything,” and so every time I’ve tried to find a group I’ve been told to either a) play a guardian/champion/minstrel, or b) to fuck off, faggot. The latter was four times in one day, so I’m pretty much ready to screw this entire server and try a different one. >_<
Wow, what the heck? What server is that so I can be sure to never go there? o.O
That’s the weird thing- not only am I meeting a bunch more jerks than I’ve come to expect from lotro’s pretty awesome player base, but it’s on Meneldor, which I’ve had generally good experiences with from 1-20. Maybe a disproportionately large number of schoolkids are getting a break over halloween and playing or something, but in the last two days I’ve met more jerks on that server than I had in my entire (granted, only several weeks) history of lotro before this.
So I don’t know what’s going on, but the pool of available players around my level has dried up, and most of the people I’m meeting around middle earth are just really disagreeable. I actually quit in frustration earlier tonight without finishing my bounty quests because some Hunter dick was following me around the lone lands, watching me walk up to enemies and buff up, and then sniping the mob in front of me just before I could attack them. I understand that happens sometimes by accident, but the little creep basically followed me around and stole every single goblin that popped, so I finally just packed it in. I’m gonna try again tomorrow, and I might just be really oversensitive, but it’s getting to the point where I’m considering just screwing it, unlocking RK, and moving to a different server to try something new.
That’s bizarrely obnoxious behavior. For what it’s worth, I think you can report that sort of thing as griefing.
Also, next time, pull with threatening shout and THEN mark. (Er, I assume that’s what you meant by ‘buff up’? Otherwise, I’m not sure what you mean.)
I play on Meneldor and have been there since the game launched. I am pretty surprised to hear this.
I haven’t logged in a month or so, but I can certainly pop on to give you a hand or at least chase up some people. I am typically on as Nacalion or Tattersail, so please feel free to give me a shout.
So, I roll a dwarf and the few names I can think of are not available. So I hit “random”.
No
no
no
hell, no
no
no
!?!?!
You’re kidding me. Really? From the randomizer? And this is considered appropriate? I mean, it’s not (really) offensive, but . . .
Ok. “Tossing”. Yes, my guardian is “Tossing the Dwarf”.
Random name generators are the source of great hilarity in pretty much every game I’ve ever seen with them.
It wouldn’t let me name my hobbit Stumpy McRotGut: the Midget Mangler, and so I used Random Name Generator - Behind the Name . it’s by far and away the best random name generator I’ve ever seen.
