Tell me about Savannah GA and Charleston SC

Continuing this thread, we have decided to go to Savannah and Charleston in April for about 10 days.

What is there to do there? We like history, architecture, walking around, checking stuff out, but not too touristy if we can help it, and not the mall.

I’ve heard many people mention Hilton Head, but I don’t yet know what it is.

Also, which of the two is better to see first?

Is it better to spend equal time in each city or should one get more time than the other?
