Fair enough, I suppose, although I think there are a few reasons not to make that particular comparison, and I wasn’t really trying to. Fernando Rodney has never been as good a pitcher as either of those two. Going one year without blowing saves is very little reason to feel secure, is what I was going for.
Rodney has a very live arm. He can be tough. But I suspect that he may be a head case. He can come in and start missing the plate by miles and scare the batters and the manager .
Maybe he should just get a badass haircut and wear glasses.
Sometimes it felt that way.
You can not use him in mop up with a big lead. He will blow it and make it a save situation.
