I’m not a seller, but my ex and I bought our first home about 35 years ago with a VA loan, and as far as I know it was not a burden on the seller, and everything went quite smoothly.
My daughter is a Realtor® and just got a ratified contract for a buyer with VA financing. They are a little more strict about what has to be in the contract–you can’t waive the inspection contingency, for example–but there is nothing that I would call a horror story. I will see if I can get some more information from her. Naturally, it’s not as easy for the seller as dealing with a cash buyer and no contingencies, but those are rare anyway.
