Tell me about your PRK laser surgery.

I’ve been a contact wearer since high school and always wanted Lasik surgery since its inception. Unfortunately once it became affordable I was ruled out as a candidate since I take glaucoma prevention medication and can’t have pressure on my eyes.
However recently my opthamologist said I could have PRK surgery which uses laser on the surface of the cornea rather than slicing under it.
Anybody here have that type of surgery? She said the first couple days your eyes feel like they have sand in them, after a week you can drive again, then it takes about 6 weeks till your eyes fully heal and your vision to get to 20/20.
Has this been your experience?
