Tell me about your web browser's "start" page.

Hi all.

I am conducting some research on web trends. One thing I’m (desperately) hoping you can help me out with should be pretty easy question to answer:

What is the first thing your browser shows you when you sit down to start browsing the web?

(or)

Is there a web page that is typically the first destination you navigate to?

I cannot thank you enough for your help!!!

It opens up right here, both computers!

Well, not this thread, but the main page.

IE goes to Google, Mozilla to the SDMB.

It goes to my own homepage. The first site I usually open each day is Twitter.

By homepage, what exactly do you mean? Like your own personal/business website page?

Mine is set to go to my Facebook page.

Local Cox homepage 'cause, what do I care?

My google calendar, week view.

Google Search Portal. I then first go to my three Gmail accounts, at Gmail, Yahoo, and the site formerly known as Hotmail.

My home page is Google.

My morning routine is to check my email (Gmail), then Facebook, then the SDMB.

Google

Google. I use Chrome, so I assume it’s the default. I don’t think I’ve ever bothered changing the default on any of my browsers. Let me check. Firefox goes to the Mozilla Firefox start page, which is a Google search bar. Safari goes to nothing. Just a generic page with a bookmarks bar on the left and some top site and their icons on the right.

The tabs from last time.

My browser is set to NOT OPEN a page when it is started; if I do ⌘-N to make a new page, it is blank until I type something in the address bar or select something from the Bookmarks menu.

My home page is the Firefox default page. It has a search box and the firefox logo.

I choose to leave it as my homepage because it loads quickly. The search is convenient when I need it.
