Tell me your weightloss success stories...

What program did you buy? Did you look at any others? I’m looking for something similar for my zire. I know there are a few of these types of programs out there but some are better than others.

I have about 13 pounds of post-baby weight to lose (and she’s already 10 months old). I used to be 135, gained 10 pounds, got pregnant and weighed 200 pounds four days before she was born. My goal is to be back at 135 again, only I want to get fit also - I never was much in shape.

I was doing OK, but the holidays kind of stalled everything. Now it’s time to get serious - I still can’t fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. know I can lose it if I exercise more (started yesterday with a spinning class at the Y) and eat better - so it’s time to get going.

SWMBO and I both lost 45 pounds last year doing WeightWatchers.

She’s hit her target weight; I’ve still got another 40 or so to go.

Yes, I was a lardass. I looked like a giant avocado with arms and legs.

Thanks. I have to admit we’re not officially enrolled–my wife used to be and we still have a calculator, but we’re operating on a mutual accountability system (including regular weigh-ins and militant point-tracking). I guess I was hoping for a simple equation for the workouts (I heard something like 1 pt per each 20 minutes after the first 20), but didn’t know it was that case-by-case.

Thanks again.

I’m not enrolled, either. I went to the first four meetings, couldn’t handle the whining (the people who just couldn’t lose weight - except they could, if they’d fucking follow the system), and quit. However, I got the AP slider, and the regular points slider, and bought the books telling you what points are in most common foods, and in restaurant foods.

I’ve lost 40 pounds since early October without having exercised once. How, you ask? Simple!

I STOPPED EATING.

Really. I haven’t had solid food since October 7th. See, my pancreas decided to up and quit on me, so for the last three months, I’ve been living off predigested liquid goo pumped directly into my intestines through a tube. Originally, it was a tube that was hanging out of my nose, but just before Thanksgiving, they replaced it with a tube hanging out of a hole they punched into my gut.

So, yeah. I’ve lost 40 pounds. I can’t say I’d recommend this as a weight-loss method, though.

I managed to lose an additional two lbs over the holiday, down to 151. My original weight loss goal was 150, but I’m feeling so good about the process, I updated changed the goal to 140.

To recap:

Beginning in July, I completely overhauled what I eat. I only eat foods which have nutritional value (no white rice, no white bread, no white potatoes, no soda, no alchohol, no sugar). As many vegetables (especially leafy greens and red/orange vegetables) as I want, lots of berries, citrus fruits, beans, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, low fat yogurt, nuts (especially walnuts). I eat salmon and turkey.

I eat every 2 hours to convince my body that there is plenty of food coming in and no need to store any. I drink at least 4 cups of black/green tea a day and plenty of water. I keep a daily food diary and track calories, fat, grams of carbohydrates, fiber and and number of Super Foods.

My favorite sweet treat is Trader Joe’s unsweetened granny smith apple rings. They are chewy and wonderful!

I try to do my aerobics tape at least 3 times a week!

I maintain an Excel spread sheet and a chart tracking my weight loss. I reward myself every 10 lbs with something non food-related (new sandals, massage, new clothes, fancy salon hair cut).

I’ve steadily lost 1 - 2 lbs every week. I’ve gone from a tight size 18 to a loose fitting size 14. I’ve lost almost 30 total inches, including 6 off my waist. I feel great, haven’t been sick a day since I started and my skin looks amazing. I really have never felt better.

I’m already making plans for maintenance mode when I plan to add back in food items which are good for me but not suitable for weight loss (peanut butter, cheese, red wine). Now that I’m not ashamed of how I look, I also want to join a gym and hire a personal trainer to teach me how to use the weight machines so I can gain some muscle definition - I think that will be my reward for hitting 140.
