Tell us some place you lived using only cultural references

Try for ones that only people familiar with your city would be know. For example you could say

  1. Thomas Guides
  2. SIG Alerts
  3. Traffic breaks
  4. “The” freeway

Or maybe one unique cultural icon that again, only people familiar with your city would be know.
The Weedle

Note: my examples are two different cities.

  1. You can’t keep an ironman down
  2. The Hill District
  3. The Strip District
  4. The Triangle
  1. Lead in the water
  2. No decent jobs
  3. Lead still in the water

Chevy on a stick!

  1. The Kennedy
  2. The Bean
  3. The Jewels (the Jewel grocery store chain, which locals pluralize)
  4. Da Bears

Earthquake.
Cement ship.

#1 screams Birmingham, Alabama. (Where’s his pants?)

The Big Chicken
The Perimeter
Spaghetti Junction
The Gulch

Nope, it is/was the catchphrase for a local beer.

The OP already used the obvious ones for me, so how about:

Chavez Ravine
Dead Man’s Curve
The Forum
The Hat or Tommy’s or Philippe’s

I’ve lived there all my life!!

Lilac festival
If you’re not from there, you’ll pronounce this avenue/area wrong

Pink flamingos

Growing up, not in a city:
Cheese
Beer
Brats
Packers

Now, in a city:
Dreamy draw
Wallace and Ladmo
The Jar

Spaghetti Hill

1: Meet me under the clocks.
2: The Monash parking lot.
3: The Gee.

(For reference, meeting under the clocks is outside Flinders Street station in Melbourne, Aus. The Monash parking lot is a particular freeway in Melb, the Monash, renowned for being excruciatingly busy at peak hours. The Gee is of course, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, home to test cricket and Aussie Rules football, cut down to MCG, and then shortened further to just Gee.)

One city but long ago:
Charlie’s Chili; it freezes swell.
Banzai pipeline
The trestle
Little Corona
The Greeter

Different city more recenttly:
The Hill
The CWE
Highway farty.
The Loop
Ted Drewes
Hodak’s
Riddle’s Penultimate (now obsolete)

Hon!:raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:
