btw, are places like salary.com and salary wizard generally considered to be accurate??
I’ve heard that they often inflate expectations, to try to get people excited about the prospect of leaving their current job, so that they can sell more reports and/or job searching services. (Either that or so that they can sell reports which people can take back to their bosses as “proof” that they are underpaid.)
curious about that.

Well, if in the year 2005 $ 20,000 per year is a starting salary to “get excited about” I’d say they’ve set the bar pretty low.
