There; added it in for ya, wasn’t so hard. I knew you were kidding.
Yes. I guess I should keep in mind next time I see a thick forest of hair on someone’s chin that they have a y chromosome, hmm?

hmm, my fingers are about equal size too. I guess that means im a lesbian:)
I don’t know about the elbow or finger thing since I can do both, but I’m also more flexible than most women and men.
I also have a oversized head compared to everyone but I agree with the smaller woman heads.
Hmm… Perhaps I have a penis that I just haven’t found yet. According to the arm angle test I should be male. My arm is nearly a straight line. And my ring finger is about a centimeter longer than my index finger on both hands–male results. I can, however, bend my fingers back quite a bit when they are resting flat on a table. Does my bisexuality maybe factor into this?
As the biological father of two children with ring and index finger lengths that are indentical within 1/100th of an inch I can assure you that the finger length differential test is not very useful.
Facially speaking:
Women have softer curves - the harshness of the shadow under the jawline is less and with softer edges.
The eyebrow ridge - Men have broader foreheads and more pronounced eyebrow ridges. Women have more arched, open ones.
Chins - The distance between lower lip and chin is narrower in women.
Eyelashes - Women’s eyelashes tend to be longer, and shaped in a particularly unique way.
Ears and Noses - Women’s ears and noses are smaller.
Necks - The width of the neck tends to be narrower in women. (and adams-apples are likely to be more prominent in men than in women, but that varies)
Obviously there are variations for these things, and any gender may have the opposing feature. But the more of these (and there are others) you have, the more recognisably masculine or feminine you appear.
Naahhhh…I’m a guy, and I can actually bend it in excess of 45 degrees up. If you count the bend of the main joint, I can get the second half of my fingers to bend up about 75-80 degrees from flat, with the palm flat on the ground. If I’m pressing on my fingers with my other hand, I can come extremely close to touching my wrist with my middle finger. It’s really cool! It makes the tip of the finger exactly 180 degrees from flat…if I could go further, I could touch my wrist.
Jman
Men and women both have Adams apples but women tend to carry more body fat in their neck, hiding it. In very thin women an Adams apple is usually noticeable.
Maybe OT but notice when a man is (convincingly) disguised as a woman it is immediately apparent hes a man when the wig is removed.
What if the man isn’t using a wig?
Osip, et al.:
Testosterone and other male-type hormones cause the jawline and other “masculine” facial features to develop. Both genders have some of the other’s hormones, of course males having predominantly male hormones, etc. Females with a little more of the male hormones will tend to look a little more “mannish”. It is possible to look at a skull and say with some degree (not always 100%) of certianty that it is from a male or a female.
I believe there was a bit on the Discovery Channel that alluded to this and the general preference of people for small-jawed (for lack of a more descriptive term) women as more feminine.
Oh I thought of you guys in French class…
We were watching the film, Babette’s Feast (pretty disgustipating food, if you’ve seen it!), and there are these Puritan-type, Danish people, upstanding and moral, and there’s a close up on one woman. Before she started to speak, I thought it was a guy…so did everyone else.
It was…“that’s a WOMAN?!”
I guess she had coarse masculine features or something. Her features were definitely lumpy.
hand the individual several books and have them walk away and observe how they are carried or drop something in their laps, nothing dangerous, and see if their legs go together or fly apart. That might give you a clue.
Facial features, guys.
Though speaking of those little tests that you can give someone, a girl at lunchtime today proposed that the way you look at your nails can tell whether you’re a guy or a girl…didn’t work out. I’m telling you, for every person who passes one of those “Are You a Guy/Girl” tests, there’s about fifty people who don’t. Or vice versa. Besides- how does it work for hermpaphrodites?
