Here on January 6th in my cool New England town right in the heart of winter it is 67F. I didn’t know how extreme that is until I looked at the previous all-time record for today…53F. Breaking an all-time weather record by 14 degrees in one whack seems a little extreme to me. I only know what they tell me about Global Warming but I like what I am seeing so far.
I’m with you. If this is global warming, I’m all for organizing an ozone depleting aerosol spray in. Everyone meet me on the Common, and bring some Aqua Net!
My thermometer says 70 (Mass.). I opened all the windows because it’s warmer outside than inside. The sun is beaming.
Aqua Net is a good choice because it is cheap. It wouldn’t make much sense for your global heating bill to be more expensive than your former home heating bill. I will pick up a few cases on the way home and meet you there.
Yeah, well those of us in Southwest Florida don’t like you guys ruining the few weeks of cool weather we get. It’s miserably humid down here. 70 degrees sounds good to you? well not when you have to swim through it.
I loved it here today (Quincy)! Although I’m having a hard time with this spring weather and the sun going down at 4. Very confusing, though it does help the SAD a bit.
13 degrees today. 13 degrees. In January.
I’m going to go back to bed and hide under the blanket until global warming is over.
It’s cold here. It’s pretty much always cold here. Send some global warming my way. TIA.
You guys have a cold ocean current to blame. We have… used air from the Ohio Valley.
I was at a café with some friends today and I kept wondering why they didn’t open the big windows, move the tables outside, and let people have their chai on the sidewalk on Yonge Street. Then I remembered, “Oh yeah. It’s January.”
But I had to think about it.
I may be forgetting about winter.
Wouldn’t that be great? It was amazing here today too. I took down my Christmas decorations today and it was actually hot. I noticed some buds on some bushes and trees. I wonder if this will throw everything off?
I was playing basketball at the park with my friends and everyone was wondering why it was getting dark so early. One person insisted that we were getting a storm soon until finally somebody pointed out that it is January. It is hard to remember that it is winter when you are outside playing basketball in shorts and a sleeveless. I also realized that winter makes me out of shape. Too much holiday eating.
Mobs would be out hunting Jack Frost with torches and pitchforks if it ever got down to 67 degrees here. Especially in a warm month like January.
You know what the worst part is? One of my closest friends is on an overseas exchange for the year, and I was planning to take her skating at Nathan Phillips Square before she left again.
hey, Kythereia, maybe for the benefit of our neighbours, we should point out that 13C is about (uh, double it and add 30…) 56F, give or take.
It’s frikin’ cold over here though. We had snow overnight Thursday and Friday morning followed by rain and a big windstorm and more rain and wind tonight. Chance of wet snow higher up. Actually, wind has been the big problem. We’ve had, what, five big storms in the last month or so. Stanley Park looks like a clearcut and the BC Place Stadium is currently deflated because of yesterday’s rip. We’re talking major venue here. It seats 60,000. Thank God it didn’t go a few years from now when the opening and closing Winter Olympics ceremonies will be held there.
