Does anyone know what the lyrics are to the Thuggee chant in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? If so, what language are they speaking, and what does it mean in English?
Come on, folks, the movie’s out on DVD. With the vast diversity of international readers this board has, I can’t believe no one who knows the language has seen it. I did find out on the IMDB that “Kali Ma shakti de” means “spiritual power of Mother Kali”, but that’s it. Anyone else know more?
I don’t know the translation, but I’ve seen the movie enough to phonetically spell out the chants.
The first chant goes:
“Ooo, Mum-Zee-Bah.” Repeat indefinitely.
The main bald guy repeatedly said:
“Caleema will rule the world.”
