Tempur-Pedic mattresses: Do they work as advertised?

Just a hint. I was able to deal a little with the mattress store. They wouldn’t move on the price but I got them to throw in a tempurpedic pillow (which are like $80) and to haul away my old bed for me.

Thanks for the flo-bed site, stretch. I am not anywhere near their one and only showroom in California, and I’m reluctant to spend that kind of money on a mattress that I haven’t personally tested.

I mean, I’d need to lie on it for at least 10 minutes, to see what degree of firmness works best for me and whether I need the extra lumbar support. Or even if I like the idea of a foam mattress that contours to my body at all.

And my wife would also need to test these out, to see if we need to by a “split” mattress, with a different level of firmness on each side.

The advantage so far for me is that I do have some Tempur-pedic dealers in town, and so we can try out the goods before we buy.

We actually bought ours, then ordered different firmness replacement pieces to fine tune it–my side was soft enough from the start but mr.stretch wanted his side even firmer. We had to pay shipping to return the two pieces of foam we didn’t want, but it was totally worth it.
