Well, another season where my prediction of a Fed slam win fails to come to pass, not for want of trying on his part. Djokovic is just too hot at the moment. I hadn’t really realised he is now on 10 slam titles - at 28, he has a real shot at usurping Roger by that metric, and if he did you’d have to say he would deserve it. Long way to go though. I don’t like his style but I admire it, and him as a person. I want to hate him but he’s too nice a guy!
Sounds like the crowd were a bit unsporting, yes of course many of them wanted to see a historic Federer win but it went too far. Just enjoy the tennis and applaud the rightful victor, even if he isn’t your favourite. Djokovic brushed it off (in typically charming style afterwards) but he shouldn’t have got that treatment, he doesn’t need to “earn the right” to a bit of common courtesy (and even if he did, he has already anyway).
