tent rental?

This should be (I hope) a quick and easy question.

I was just curious how much renting one of those large outdoor tents would cost – the type they have at outdoor weddings and corporate events. I’ve found a few websites but none of the companies will deign to give their prices online. I’m not at a point where I’m ready to jump up and rent one, I just would like a ballpark figure so I can see if it’s even worth futher investigation or not. I would only need one, basic, 10x20 or 15x15 canopy with frame, no sidewalls or anything fancy. I wouldn’t want to spend more than say $75-100, but for all I know that’s ridiculously low.

So if anyone has any experience with this, I’d appreciate some enlightenment.

TIA.

Would this online tent rental cost calculator be of any use to you, Kaio?

Heck, you’re in Chi-town, home to a shitload of dopers. A LOT of folks have these things in their garages (my in-laws own a big one, but we’re down south). Put a plea in MPSIMS and someone will loan you the whole shebang for a 12-pack and some Cubs tix (go Braves!). Worth a shot.

I thought this was going to be about Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.'s Martian military music.

“Rented a tent. Rented a tent. Rented a tent, a tent, a tent…”

Looks like for the amount of money available and using the very fine tent calculator Ice Wolf provided, you should be able to handle a party of 10.

10 Canadians, not 10 Americans.

Try Target, you can probably buy one under $100…or two

That was my first thought too. One time the wife and I wanted to go camping but didn’t own a tent, so we rented one. The whole weekend I had Martian military music on the brain (except in my mind it is always “Rented a tent, a tent, a tent. Rented a tent, a tent, a tent. Rented a tent, rented a tent. Rented a, rented a tent”).
