Terrible upgrade of Comcast email

Does anyone else use Comcast email? They just released, with no warning, an upgrade which has made their email program almost unusable. It totally changes the old program, which if somewhat cumbersome, was fairly easy and intuitive to use. Their upgrade has changed ALL the procedures, and hidden most of them in obscure locations on the screen.

I have just been trying to generate an email which is composed of both photos and text, and have given up. There seems to be no way of doing that any more, at least no method that I can find.

I’m really thinking about getting a different email program - do any of you folks have any advice on a good (and usable) one? I would much appreciate it.

This is, on a somewhat smaller scale, comparable in frustration to the change from windows XP to Windows 10.

Are you opposed to G-mail? I am barely tech-y and I can use it on a tablet, desk top or android phone. I can even share pix & music. If I can use it anyone can. Easy-peasy.

This is interesting. I have Comcast but had no idea they even offered email services. Two weeks ago I see all sorts of charges on my account, and phone lines set up through Comcast Mobile (again, I didn’t even know they offered phone lines; I use them for cable and internet).

Anyway, after four days of talking with them for 90-120 minutes each day, they found the culprit had used the Comcast email system as a gateway to my account. I wonder if this update is related somehow?

Most broadband providers do, a few people use it.

My suggestion to the OP is that you start by seeing if you can access your comcast email through an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird or even Gmail (never tried it, but I know there’s away to do that with some email addresses). If that works, then you can use it without going through their website which may or may not be easier for you.

Otherwise, if you’re not too tied to that address, get yourself a new one. Something like gmail or yahoo mail are free, you can use both of them on their website as well as with a client (so they work with pretty much any email app you’d put on a phone) and you’re not stuck to whatever whims one company has for their customer facing webmail. If gmail changes their layout and you hate it, you can read your email on Thunderbird or Outlook or K9 etc.

I use Comcast email and I noticed the change, but I have not had any problem with it. My main complaint is that, while before I used to be able to go directly to the email page without having to look at the Xfinity Homepage (which is, of course, all advertising) at least 50% of the time, now I have to go through that homepage every single time. I can’t say for sure this is related to the change though.

The functions that I normally use all seem quite visible and accessible to me.

eta: I just tried re-setting my shortcut to the email page again, and it went directly there. So I guess I really don’t have any complaints at all.

Using Comcast email is like eating Colgate lasagna.

I have Comcast and use comcast email but I’m not sure what you are talking about. Do you mean they updated the web page used to access your email? I use Outlook at home to access my Comcast email and just use the built in email program on my Samsung to access it on my phone.

I’m talking about the web page that comes up after I log into “My Account”, which brings up the main email page.

I have a good friend here who, when I asked how he liked the new format, answered “It’s horrible”. And he is almost a computer geek, way better than me.

So far I can’t see anything that the new system improves over the old.

I had Comcast email years ago. Every once in a blue moon they would do some kind of shit upgrade, probably like what you are dealing with now. I finally gave up on it and use Gmail.
