Terrific cover of Harvey Danger's "Flagpole Sitta"

“Flagpole Sitta” was an alternative song from 1998. If you don’t know it by name, you may know it from the lyrics “I’m not sick but I’m not well, and I’m so hot 'cause I’m in hell” and “been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding.”

Yesterday, I found this awesome cover version that is made to sound like it’s from the 1960’s. I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what style of 60’s music it is, but I enjoy it anyway.

Wait a minute. People on You Tube are actually debating whether this “1965” version is the original version of the song while the Harvey Danger version is the cover version? People cannot be that stupid, can they?

Never underestimate the stupidity of commenters on youtube.

Obviously these people think Rage Against the Machine has been around for quite some time.

Obviously they got their name from the 1965 song.

The answer to this is almost always “yes they can.”

Interesting little confection. I suppose I would characterize the arrangement as Sunshine Pop, kinda like the work of Curt Boettcher(Wiki link)…

I much prefer the original.

So you mean the 1965 version? :stuck_out_tongue:
