Terry Pratchett’s “Nation”, I think it would make a fantastic movie

Warning, may contain mild spoilers for Nation

I am a big Terry Pratchett fan, I have read most of his books. And I recently was thinking about the fact that with the exception of Good Omen’s, the film versions of his books have really been more niche works. And honestly, I’m not sure how much non Pratchett fans enjoyed Good Omen’s. But it was big budget and very well made.

I started thinking that the Pratchett book that would make the best mainstream movie is Nation. I really think that a properly made movie would do very well. The book kind of has a little something for everyone!

And I know that a lot of times when adapting a book into a screenplay they need to alter the climax to add dramatic tension. But the way I see it Nation already has a very filmable climax. And the post climax reveal is also something that would appeal to a lot of people.

You say that, until the movie comes out and it is a steampunk movie about some very Caucasian action heros battling time-travelling zenomorph aliens from literal Hell.

Can I have the screenplay by the end of May?

I agree with, and approve of, this thread. *Nation *is one of my favorite Pratchett books.
