I suspect you can’t up-armor a CT by much before it needs a complete redesign.

As I posted previously, the metal parts can stop a 9mm or less. They do make armored Cybertrucks for civilian service however.

So, as is- kinda sorta bulletproof. It can be modified to be VIP level bulletproof. It is not a military grade armored car or even close.

They’re already heavy enough to warrant serious thought about infrastructure - get them heavier and many road and bridges won’t safely hold their traffic.

A CT weighs 6700#. A Ford F-450 Super Duty =8600#. Chevy Suburban= 6000#. In other words, a bit more than a big SUV but not even close to the bigger pickup trucks.

Every demonstration I’ve seen of a deplorean as an armored vehicle was, wel, deplorable. But I see a great future for them as IED.
Who would ever dare to walk down a street with a couple of those things threatening to explode?
