Just had to test to see how the pew pew characters looked in a title, feel free to delete. (The system will allow only 2 of the characters in the title for some reason.)
Yep, still goes crazy as a thread title.
I see two tiny black icons shooting what seems akin to a black bolt of laser energy to the upper right (~30 degrees, to be exact). It shows up on the ATMB main page too in your title.
Looks like Vietnamese.
:blinks:
I think you broke my browser. Or maybe my computer. Or possibly the Internet.
Ditto.
I thought it was going to be about these sorts of emojis, which I think are rendered by most browsers independently of the server that… ummm… serves them up:

OK, weird. They were there, then I edited my post, now they seem not to be possible

huh, what font is this?
See this thread (which inspired my post.)
Moderator Note
I removed the test emoji from the title as this can royally muck with some browsers.
There’s no problem doing this for a test, but please do not put emoji type characters or other special characters in thread titles elsewhere on the board as this can cause issues for some browsers.
Oh oh, bad news when we have to be careful not to upset the overlord Browsers.
Each one takes 88 normal characters. If you search google for just one of them it gets an error that the word is too long.
While it would annoy the mods and posters to no end if these were overused here on the boards, it’s worth noting that they work in many venues. Except Facebook, which is really a shame because I’d love to be able to pew pew pew FB posts that I find displeasing.
I’m not sure why more sites don’t have limits on how many of those you can put on a single character. Even Thai must have some reasonable maximum that’s actually useful.
Wouldn’t the limit be imposed by the browser, not by the page? Unless the writers of a webpage anticipated people using them to scribble all over the screen, and put in some special safeguards just to prevent that.
