Thanks. It fiiiinaaaly displayed. For the longest time, for me, it only showed the URL not the image. I kept refreshing, reloading, but no joy.
But here in this thread it displayed immediately.

Yes. I use imgbb and it does that to me too sometimes.
Nope, nope, nope.

From Shutterfly, using Chrome browser:
Thanks @Karen_Lingel ! That does work.
Beautiful pic!
I wish I could take credit for it. I had tried to make it my avatar at one point but it didn’t work right.

Hmm that’s not working…
That link is broken. If you follow it, shutterfly throws a generic 400 error and the browser says it’s not working.
My diagnosis is the problem isn’t Discourse or their inline preview feature. I kinda suspect shutterfly is detecting and block hotlinking.
Alright.

I made a key combination by mistake and the text font changed inside a posting box?
Do you mean in the posting box where you’re typing, or the preview area on the right? Also, if you look at the upper left corner of the posting area, there’s a slider whose left half is an M and a down-arrow in inverse video and whose right half is a larger A. Which side has the colored highlight?
All of those affect how what you might have typed appears.
Thanks, it was within the posting box where I’m typing this. I was looking for shift with my left pinky and may have hit ctrl- shift- something. It looked like the text font/typeface changed while typing.
Sorry- I am typing with a different set of glasses, and in the near dark on a keyboard I’m not used to.. i’ll try to post where I can see and feel !
Ignore the quoted post. Trying to figure out how to quote in Chrome on my new NXTPAPER tablet. When I highlight the text I want to quote, the “quote” button does NOT popup as it does on my phone and on my Kindle fire tablet.
Apparently I’ve just stumbled on a workaround. If I can remember what I did…
I don’t like the Chrome browser. ![]()
Trying again.
Hmmm… I just select the text and hit “reply” and the above appears. That works.
I want my Firefox. ![]()
I wonder if I install Firefox on this thoroughly Google-fied Android tablet, will it spontaneously burst into flames?
Ha! Of course not, silly. It will, however, call the cenobites from hellraiser.
I have found that the quote popup is a bit flaky on my phone (Chrome on Android). ~80% of the time it shows up. Except when it doesn’t.
For awhile I thought it was me, but there are only so many ways to select text and wait.
Before you contort yourself too far, consider that the problem might be them, not you.
I assumed it was Them. That’s my default assumption about most things. ![]()
But it’s helpful to know that Chrome sometimes behaves that way on your phone.
Sorry- In my case it was “user error”
