Test your amazing Aircraft ID abilites here.

I used to tout myself as knowing my shit about aircraft, but I was humbled with a score of 22 out of 24 on the “hard” test. I guess I don’t know my transports very well :frowning:

I’m scared to try the “very hard” test right now!

24 out of 24 on “hard”.

They gave me “Airwolf” as one of the pix, heheheh.

I got 17 of 24 on the “easy” test, and about half of those were WAGs.

I’m not even posting my score, b/c it showed me what I already know: that I don’t know nearly that much about military planes.

OTOH, show me one for civilian planes and airliners, & I’ll be all over that one!

11 out of 24 on the hard test, and I think that was lucky.

24 out of 24 on the hard test, but I had to make a few deductive guesses. It took at least a half hour.

Only 22 out of 24 on the “hard” test. I mistook an EC-135 for an E-8, and then en E-8 for an RC-135. (I almost got that one right, but I didn’t think they’d have two "E-8"s in the same test. Had I not missed the first, I would have gotten the second.) But then, I know jack about surveillance aircraft.

14 of 24 on Easy. Apparently, I suck at recognizing European aircraft.

Took it three times, once each at the medium, hard and very hard level. My scores were 22, 22 and 19. I found that those that were stomping me were the modern Russian/Soviet planes and the acrobatic teams. I did like the picture of the Arrow though.

21 out of 24 on “very hard”.

That’s better. 24 out of 24 on the “very hard”.

18-24 on very hard. I only did that well because there were plenty of WW2 era planes. The Russian fighters I knew nothing about.

22, 19, and 21 on medium, hard, very hard.

I object to having a picture of an “Aurora”, which was just an artist’s conception of what it might look like (though I got it right by a guess).

I suck at transports/support craft. I excel at WWII combat aircraft.

14 out of 28 on the easy. I got most of the American ones right, I actually messed up on the Harrier (thought it is British, so that’s understandable.)

12/24 on medium. I nailed the U.S. stuff. Got smoked on the foreign helicopters.

(I was hoping this test would be planes as seen from the ground. I live near JFK and LGA, and on the runway course for ISP. And today, I was sitting in my mother’s backyard ID’ing planes.)

21 out of 24 on the “Very Hard” setting. 'even identified a Russian plane by it’s cockpit panels, alone.

Dude…I rock.
Ranchoth

Well, tried very hard.

22-24

I actually think the very hard was a bit easier than just “hard”

Hard, 17 out of 24.

Very hard, 19 out of 24.

Tripler
Those ‘double pictures’ are damn misleading.

I think I may have even caught a mistake on that site. One plane was identified as a Harrier, but I think strictly speaking it was a Sea Harrier.

24 out of 24 on ‘very hard’.

Apart from the interior shot of a cockpit, those were just plain easy. I mean, it’s not like an F-16, an F-104 or a Buccaneer are distinctive designs, is it?
