Test Your Movie Knowledge: Part VI!

Well, could you get a new abbreivation, please, Ellis? I already used ED.

Oops, sorry Ellis - I didn’t read down. (You were right about ED_2, BTW.)

Salute of the Jugger - and shame on you for not learning it from Rutger Hauer.

TE5 Rising Sun (Everything I needed to know about fake digital image manipulation I learned from Tia Carrere.)

LSD2 The Ice Storm (All I know about key parties I learned from Sigourney Weaver)

LSD5 Sliding Dorrs? (All I know about the many-worlds theory I learned from Gwyneth Paltrow)

bibliophile: I_R_1 Tigerland is correct.

Now try these:
IR2 Everything I know about reuniting with school chums I learned from Sergi López (one of my favorites of the past few years)
IR3 Everything I know about Buddhism I learned from Donal Logue

IR2 Everything I know about reuniting with school chums I learned from Sergi López (one of my favorites of the past few years)
original title “Henry un ami qui vous veut du bien” but i don’t know what the english tile was. Sergi Lopez was downright scary in there

gawen, you got it! And I thought I was being obscure, but I guess the movie was bigger in France :). The US title is “A Friend Like Harry…” He was also quite creepy in Dirty Pretty Things.

Ilsa_Lund and cheesepickles: correct

Anybody for CG-3?

ED2:Black&White(brooke shields)

CP1:Everything i needed to know about feeding a fussy feline i learned from Elliot Gould

CP8:Everything i needed to know about chicken salad sandwiches i learned from Jack Nicholson

All my others were answered…bravo!

you’re right imok ruok, it was rather big in France, it won many Cesars (movie award, named after the artist not the emperor)

IR3 Everything I know about Buddhism I learned from Donal Logue

The Tao of Steve

B_8 Everything I needed to know about pudding I learned from Adam Sandler.

That gave it away for me. The correct response is Blood of Heroes, though “jugger” is a term from the movie…perhaps a your title is an aka?

Nice get for Black and White. I was starting to wonder if it was too obscure. Let me try one of yours:

CP8:Everything i needed to know about chicken salad sandwiches i learned from Jack Nicholson
As Good As It Gets

All three are correct.

Love late-night posting…I have the thread all to myself. I’m considering doing a complete thread cleanup during maintenance, which is coming in an hour. In case I don’t, here’s cleanup for mine:

ED1: All I know about children’s books I learned from Alan Rickman

LSD3: All I know about aliens I learned from Brent Spiner

LSD6: All I know about apples I learned from Annette Bening (horrible movie)

The movie has been known as SotJ since its original release, and exclusively by that title thereafter. Yours is the obscure original title.

You’re thinking Independence Day, I’m sure. However, given the number of sci-fi movies Spiner has appeared in it’s not the best question.

Then why does IMDB return this when I type in “Salute of the Jugger”? Also, when I first saw it on cable, which was certainly after its first release, it was listed in TV Guide as Blood of Heroes. (Now I want to go watch it again, I love that movie. “You’re just rubbing wounds together.” hehheh)

LSD3 is correct, and you’re right; it probably was (intentionally) misleading.

Okay, I did full cleanup on this thread…

…but we’re almost to a new page…

…so I just need a coupla more filler posts…

…to get to…
