Test Your Movie Knowledge!: Part VII

Okay, okay. :D:D

I’m thick.

Actually, Spellbound entered my mind, but I couldn’t recall the whole 21 lunch scene.
The Old Dark House - Charles Laughton?

Yes, Laughton. That’s one. Spellbound is another, but not the gimme I was thinking of. Come on, one more.

These remain:

Everything I ever learned about spiral staircases, I learned from Marlene Dietrich.

Everything I ever learned about zippers, I learned from Kevin Costner.

Lis_8 I learned everything I know about Boris Karloff from Raymond Massey

Lis_10 I learned everything I know about smoking marijuana from Robert Powell.

Lis_13 I learned everything I know about coffee Gloria Graham.

Lis_15a I learned everything I know about closets from Gloria Stuart.

. . . and the more obscure Shelley Winters/swimming reference.

Oh, God. I don’t know liss. I think you overestimate my film knowledge with your “gimmies.”

I think God might know the films you do, if only he had the time.
Trying in vain to cheat on the IMDB, I find Gloria Graham was only in MP and the Holy Grail.

I don’t know.

I_L_6 “Everything I needed to know about honoring thy father, I learned from Nova Pilbeam”

I_L_7 “Everything I needed to know about the olfaction of subterfuge, I learned from Burl Ives”

sorry; gloria grahamE.

Gloria Stuart was the other gimme; the Raymond Massey I thought was pretty obvious.

Out of curiosity, how was gloria stuart a gimme?

Just for me, I mean?

She hid in the closet in The Old Dark House.

I haven’t actually seen the old dark house, but who cares about a technicality like that?
I_L_9 “Everything I needed to know about directing a children’s choir, I learned from Deborah Kerr”

Ah. The King and I.

The “Ah” was for your ODH admission.

Not the King and I

Well, she teaches the kids to sing “Getting to KNow You,” doesn’t she?

I don’t know.

Hmm. Can’t think of another example. Is that the one where she’s a nun in a cave or something?

Nope. But it was spectacularly bad.

Sorry if I dug too deep; I didn’t want to make them too easy (Everything I know about sleds I learned from Orson Welles; Ruby Slippers/Judy Garland; Birds/Tippi Hedren), but I rejected a lot that were even more obscure (God/Deborah Winger; boloney/Ingrid Bergman). Should I supply the answers to the leftovers and try some easier ones?

God/Deborah Winger - Terms of Endearment?
Yeah, give us the answers and ease off a bit.

And don’t forget about Deborah Kerr.

Nope, that’s the only Deborah Kerr movie I know of in which she teaches a bunch of kids to sing. I just scanned her list at IMDB, and nothing else rings a bell.

An Affair to Remember. Awful.
