Testosterone levels and finger length

There was a segment on one of the PBS science shows about this. Researcher looked at photo copies of the hands of 6 sprinters who he had never seen, nor had they ever run against each other. He then picked the outcome. He called the first and last two correctly, and transposed the middle pair. Seems there might well be something to this.

I saw that show, it was very enlightening. I tried to find it on the NPR site, but no luck. If I remember correctly it had to do w/ the effects of testosterone in the womb, rather than levels at the time of the experiment.

It’s easy to measure this incorrectly. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Interesting, my index fingers are quite shorter than my ring fingers. I’m not lesbian (just a bit bi), I was always terrible at sports, and I’m physically on the very femme side. It’s true that I’ve always been a tomboy but that was probably influenced more by having 6 brothers.
