Texas Hill Country Dope Fest! (San Antonio TX, “SATX”)

That’s sweet, Beck. Thanks. :slightly_smiling_face:

BTW, it’s overcast in San Antonio right now. Not a dense, heavy overcast though. When I walked earlier, the sun peeked through a bit. Maybe the clouds will move a little in the next couple of hours. :crossed_fingers:t4:

@Bullitt, where are y’all and what’s the sky looking like?

Just now seeing this.

We were in Kerrville. Still are, actually. I think @FloatyGimpy ’s flight home is this morning. She’s probably at the airport now, at 0500, or she’ll be there soon. And pretty soon Mrs. Bullitt and I will hit the roads headed west towards home.

The Kerrville skies were spotty, but we could see the sun being eclipsed from time to time. And we could see totality for a few minutes but then the clouds built back up again. Totality ended while the sun was covered with clouds.

We were in Kerrville with one brother, from Pasadena CA, while another brother from Houston TX (who we saw when the family gathered on Sunday at the Gristmill) drove north to just south of Dallas and had clear skies.

Pasadena CA brother was able to get these 14 pics, so this is what we saw in Kerrville:

Bumped. For some reason I must’ve whomped my imgur post and didn’t realize it was pointed to by my post upthread. I just noticed this. Not sure what I was thinking when I did that. Anyway, I’ve reconstructed it.

My original post with new image links for the original photos follows. On imgur it is a hidden post.

We had 7 in our group today. It was great meeting these nice Dopers in 3D! The venue was very nice, and we had a table above and next to the Guadalupe River with a nice view. Nicely done, @ThelmaLou , and thank you!

Here are two pictures we managed to get of our group.

Before @Velocity arrived, from left to right: ThelmaLou, Bullitt, Mrs Bullitt, FloatyGimpy, Inna, JohnT

Velocity’s arrival completed our group.

After lunch we walked over to some live music at the Historic Gruene Dance Hall next door (built 1878; claimed, oldest in Texas; wiki link)

At Gruene Hall (“Gruene” is “green”), on the wall are some pics of John Travolta from the movie, Michael (1996) which was filmed there and in the surrounding towns

All in all, a good day. Now it’s time for an eclipse. Woo-hoo!

Those are cute shots - what a wing-dinger!

Looks like fun for all!

It really was fun!
