Yes, the irrepressibly effete Yankee liberal will be spending Tuesday night to Friday (and perhaps beyond) in balmy Houston on business.

I have no idea what my availability will be, as my tasks down there are pretty time sensitive. Since every moment of my time will be billed to someone else, it is not all that likely that I will have huge stretches with nothing to do. But I would love to grab a drink or two with some Houston dopers, given half a chance.

You are absolutely right. Nen clearly loves you more than my firm does, which is paying for my ticket, my meals, and perhaps even my drinking money. :wink:

As tempted as I am to bring my weapons, just because I can, I don’t think I am going to bother. And they have the whole death penalty thing down there, so I don’t think it’s really worth the risk. After all, if me and a Texan both say that the other deserved a good shootin’, who do you think they are going to believe? :wink:

Shit, I think just about any court in the country would convict me on those grounds alone.

I’ll send off some emails. Again, no promises. Wednesday and Thursday will probably be 12-15 hour days at the office, and if we finish early, we won’t be there long on Fri. But if it ends up taking longer than expected, then I have every reason to believe that we will not be staying late on Friday night.

A fourth to add to your list … assuming you’re open some time between your arrival and Thursday for lunch. Thursday evening I’m motoring to Dallas for two days, but if you’re still around on Saturday evening, I’ll be back!
