Thank Og for system restore!!

I tried to add a second (apparently Non-MS supported) TV tuner card on the machine and after installing the drivers and the appropriate software and then the eventual re-start, the computer was all fouled up. The DVD drives we’re disabled, the sound card had issues, and there were the yellow ! next to a dozen more items in the device manager’s list of devices.
Holy crap!, I thought. I tried to uninstall the drivers and the software that caused the problem but that didn’t work. I thought to myself that the last time something like this happened on the Win98 machine it took half a day to fix.
Thank Og this is a newer machine with WinXP and a system restore option…
Rolled back the time to the last checkpoint and everything was honky-dorry.

Question; Will the restore erase any data that was stored on the HD?

After the system restore, the computer popped up a window that said something to the effect that “you have recovered from a critical system error, would you like to send an error report?”. No thanks, I’ll just pretend this never happened.

No. Restore only changes installed software and system changes.
