Thank you for the welcome

I found you through curiosity; how did ‘cop’ attach to law enforcement. Dex tracked it all the way back to the early 1800’s (in print). Rescently I heard (CNN) refer to COP as Civilian Organized Protection. Umm, sharing is a good thing.
Thanks again for the welcome.

My hamster fell out of the wheel on this one.
Am I supposed to be figuring out the answer to why we say you’re welcome after thank you?

EDIT: or are you just sharing how “cop” became attached to law enforcement because its mundane and pointless?

It stands for Citizens On Patrol. I learned that from all my other law enforcement films, the police academy movies.
