I ran out at lunch to run an errand and I caught part of today’s 1:00 hour of Public Interest on NPR. Kojo Nnamdi had two guests discussing right-wing politics in Europe. One guest is the head somethingorother at Agence France-Presse. The weird part is, he sounded distinctly not French. I mean, he could have been a character in a Guy Ritchie film.
Thank heavens, Kojo at one point brought this up and elicited from his guest that he is, in fact, a native of Glasgow, Scotland!
Wow, that was weird for a while. I’ve heard, of course, that people who learn English from the BBC have British accents, but this was ridiculous!
