Thankful Songs

I’ve been coping by spending a lot more time listening to music and a lot less time online or watching news. It occurred to me that given the time of year and recent events, it might be worth putting together a playlist of songs about thankfulness (and maybe hopefulness) to provide a refuge and some comfort. Discourse reminded me that there was a thread about thanksgiving songs in 2019, but five years that include a pandemic may be long enough to justify another one.

Yes, I know this OP may make me a bit of a pollyanna ( Pollyanna - The Glad Game), but what the heck. Here’s a song to start off.

Thankful - Beth Hart

I’ve always liked the song “All That I’m Allowed (I’m Thankful)” by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Christina Perri A Thousand years

I Thank You

Thank you for being a friend

Thanks for the Memory

Also, I was raised in a religious environment and was exposed to contemporary Christian music, and this is one of the first things that crossed my mind whether I like it or not. Hold your nose and experience the syrupy glurge of Thank You For Giving to the Lord

Mr. Roboto (Domo Arigato)

Thank You (Alanis Morissette)

How about This Heaven?

David Gilmour - This Heaven (Official Audio) - YouTube

Thank You Very Much (from Scrooge)

Neil Diamond - Thank the Lord for the Night Time

Thank U Very Much - The Scaffold

Thank You - Led Zeppelin

Thank God for You - Sawyer Brown

Days / The Kinks

Stone me, I am listening to that and typing my post right now.
