I just want to say I am thankful for everyone in my life. I am thankful to have a job that I like, to have friends that support me. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given. I am thankful for not being broke. I think this new year I will try my best to show my thanks to others more than I have lately. I think I have been too bitter for the last six months. It’s time to really show others how valuable they are to me.
I wanted to get this out there…I am really a lucky person, even though I usually don’t realize it.
I’m with you Quasi. I’m thankful that I’ve managed to get my life back together after 2007 (aka the worst year of my life). I’ve lost two stone, got back into my job, promoted at my job, have good friends who I’m still in touch with even though some of them have moved a good number of time zones away, I own my flat and it doesn’t look like the housing crisis is going to affect me, I have no debt and a decent chunk of money saved which I’m hoping to start investing soon, the gym is going well, I’m getting my fair share of cock at the moment…
Why do you have to be thankful to anything other than myself? For what I’m thankful some of it’s luck, some of it’s hard work on my part. For the luck I guess I’m just generally thankful.
You’re thankful to yourself? Why the fuck? You’re obviously doing all that neat stuff for yourself out of venal self-interest --you do realize this, don’t you?
I’m with you regarding how some people are thankful to the Magnificent Nothing…crediting I don’t know what for their good fortune.
However, I am genuinely thankful to my husband for being a Team Player, because that is how we accomplished what we accomplished this year. He feels the same way about me. We’re thankful to each other for actual actions, mutual sacrifices, and for accomplishing our goal.
People don’t have to justify their thankfulness to you, pseudotriton ruber ruber, so take your hijack and start a new thread. If you want to piss and moan about others’ beliefs, start a thread in the Pit; if you want to have a debate about thankfulness, start a thread in GD. Otherwise, leave this one alone.
Who I’m thankful to is far too long to list. I’m thankful to my parents for taking care of me for 23 years, I’m thankful to my School Division for Hiring me, I’m thankful to my friends because they care about me, and that they are still my friends despite stupid thinks I do. I’m not really thankful to the great nothing…
One step closer to having this problem resolved! I am now very thankful for that. I can have a holiday with less stress. It won’t be resolved until Jan 7th, but it all looks so much more positive right now!
