I make almost everything from scratch, but not eggnog. I can. I just prefer the store-bought stuff.
The main reason is that store-bought is pasturized. My eggs come from the neighbor’s place and while I know they run a clean operation, I kept chickens for years and I wouldn’t want to rely on that alone to avoid salmonella.
Another reason is that pasturizing changes the flavor of the eggnog somewhat. I’ve come to prefer the pasturized flavor.
That is one of my concerns too.

Me three, plus I’m the only one in my house who likes eggnog, so really not worth the trouble of making it (though I do have a chocolate nog recipe I’ll make a half batch from every few years).
We don’t use cow milk, so I would have to buy it anyway. I like Turner Dairy (a local business) eggnog and they have that at the farm market I shop at.
Same here. My wife hates it and my daughter inherited that.

easier to buy the 'nog. i got hooked on eggnog flavouring as a kid, there was a company that did strawberry, chocolate, and eggnog powder to add to milk for kids. i was obsessed by the difficult to find eggnog.

I don’t remember if I already mentioned this-
I moved out in September. My lease ended 10/31/2023. I keep getting robo emails that I owe rent for November. It’s very frustrating. I’ve called and talked to the answering service a few times.
Blue Bell has eggnog ice cream and I wonder if two scoops in a mug with a couple ounces of, say, Southern Comfort would be drinkable?
Oh, and as long as we’re here, a recipe for eggnog pound cake. I have a smaller recipe for this - I would take it in to work over the holidays.
That sounds like a dessert I would pay good money for at a classy restaurant!
Oh dear, that happened to me with eye drops and Urgent Care refused to fix it, they said they don’t do refills, despite my letting them know it’s not a refill, they didn’t prescribe enough to begin with. We don’t do refills, over and over. Good luck!
Count yourself lucky. My wife ordered a custom tshirt and the company never shipped it. The (not)laughable part was that they refused to cancel the order because it was always “just about to be shipped”. Then they stopped replying to emails. Then they disconnected their answering machine.
When I posted that, I wasn’t thinking “dessert,” – But I am now!
If I find a few bux to spare (Blue Bell is a tad pricy, but sooo worth it), I’ll whip up a sample and report back, hopefully in time for the holidays. Feel free to tweak it if you wish, like maybe brandy of some sort.

My rant. I forgot to go to a big Townhall meeting for our company today. It was at a hotel! I thought it was scheduled tomorrow, for Pete’s sake! I was working from home, and when I got the reminder at 15 minutes until the meeting, it was way too late. Shit.
I sent an apology email to my boss, but I really have no excuse. I won’t get fired or anything, but I’m sure my boss is disappointed in me. 
So how’s the taste?

Lucky for me I checked my CC statement and couldn’t find any charges for this. And hindsight being 20/20 I now recall that my bank notified me that my CC had been compromised and that they were cancelling it and sending me a new one around the same time that I placed the order. I suspect the two are related.
