so i tried to log on last night and could not. this was around 2:00 am east cost. i take it from this thread that i was not the only one. i’d like to offer my thanks to jerry for getting the hamsters going again, but what happened? did jerry have to run out to hamsters R’ us to get a new power sourse?
Jerry is Jerry Davis (login JDavis), the Technical Guru of the SDMB. He’s also known as Jerry the Tech God and Chief Hamster Wrangler. He keeps this whole shebang running on a roomful of servers running GNU/Linux (hence the gnu mentioned in the OP’s song).
If Jerry ever makes a Dopefest, I’m sure the outpouring of affection would make a Bacchanalian orgy seem like a dissertation on non-Euclidian geometry.
Not that I’m implying y’all’d do anything that’s illegal … in Chicago.
