Thanksgiving in Canada

I spent thanksgiving going for a nice, long hike in the forest where I spotted some shaggy mane mushrooms. I went home where my mom (who beat the cancer odds thanks to free Canadian healthcare) was making a delicious dinner for us. I told her about the mushroom and she and I took a basket and went and collected some then brought them home and added them to our dinner. I ate a delicious dinner and had cheese cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Blessed indeed. Happy Thanksgiving.

Actually, I think “nice apartment over a meth lab” is a brilliant analogy. You’re just reading it too literally. The best metaphors are often the unexpected spontaneous ones with a lot of zing, not the ones meticulously thought out in every detail.

Nitpick - included with the price of admission. Glad your mom is doing well and hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Of course opinions will differ. But for the analogy to really work, one presumes Walter Orange just started cooking in 2016.

“Nice apartment over a meth lab”. Never heard that one, but “Nice apartment over a shooting range” seems more apropos. That’s what really scares me about the US.

Naah, firearms aren’t dangerous to Canadians unless you’re within a mile of the border.

Until the meth addicts really start waving them around. Then they can tear up the whole place. And once the meth lab collapses, then stuff’s gonna get real complicated in the nice apartment.
