Yes. Yes, he is. Like a cuter version of Bud Cort.
I don’t really know why exactly, but Topher Grace kind of reminds me of Johnny Carson. I think he would make an excellent late night talk show host.
He has that boy next door look, has a dry sense of humor and has a smart assed, but a funny, humorous smart assedness about him.
I like the dude that plays Hyde also, Ashton what’s his name is actually my leats favorite.
I do not live in the USA, and 70s is one of the few shows I like that I can get P2P. I also P2P Enterprise, Star Trek, and the Simpsons.
I find watching That 70s Show interesting. I was the somewhat dorky tall guy with 70s hair (read: Erik), and dated a girl who resembled Donna to an amazing degree (brunette, though – sigh), and had a friend very much like Hyde, and another very much like Kelso, who was dating a girl very much like Jackie. We even had a goofy exchange student – although he was from Indionesia.
The resemblence is so strong that some of my old classmates has mentioned it to me.
That said, the show was only good for the first couple of years…

So, you spend all day at work staring at a glowing screen, and then come home and relax by… staring at a glowing screen.
Huh.
I also really like the show.
But I need to point out an … anachronism? Is that the right word?
When they were coming to Canada to buy beer (and have sex with Maggie Trudeau - fantastic episode, BTW) there was a map of Canada in the office they were in.
And, the map had Nunavut on it, which wasn’t created until the nineties !
I know, it’s trivial. But I wouldn’t be Canadian if I didn’t get overly excited about references to us in popular culture !
(Don’t even get me started on the Simpsons Toronto episode.)
Other oddities on That '70s Show:
-
Mrs. Pinciotti attends a class at “Kenosha Community College”, although the official website says that Point Place is a suburb of Green Bay (quite a distance).
-
Everyone’s drinking Coke from 8-ounce bottles, which were not distributed in Wisconsin in the 1970s.
-
Mrs. Foreman cooks with Best Foods Mayonnaise, although that brand is distributed only west of the Mississippi (the brand is called Hellman’s east of the Miss.).
–Anyone remember EarthShoes? KELSO Earth Shoes? There’s a fashion trend that isn’t coming back.
–In the opening credits, when Laura Prepon grabs the dashboard? I moan with longing.
I loathe Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and their ilk.
And I love That '70s Show. Go figure.
Earlier, they showed one of the best ones-where Eric and the gang go see Star Wars. I love Red as Obi-Wan Kenobi:
“Jedi Knight. Humph! Jedi dumbass!”
Red never fails to crack me up.

Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

Though, as a native Wisconsinite from that era, I can affirm that we only had soda in the 12 ounce bottles.
The show’s FAQ seems completely off base as to location of Point Place. It makes you wonder if they ever took a look a map of the state. The show generally seems to place the town in the southern half of state, somewhere south and west of Milwaukee. About the only reference that could put it up near Green Bay would be the time when Kelso complained that he and Jackie had visited all the stores in the “Greater Oshkosh area”. On the whole, its best not to think about it too much.
Kitty has two of the best moments in that episode. Vacuuming with R2-D2 and when she’s describing Red punching the guy out.
When you are on a 12-15 hour airplane ride, and I have been on 16 of them this year, you’ll watch just about anything to pass the time. When That 70s Show is one of the choices, I still won’t watch it. It’s just another stale and unoriginal sit-com.
Haj
Red and Kitty are just the best TV show parents. I saw the one tonight where Red finds out that Lori is dating Kelso (and the 5-pack :D)! LOL! That’s great. And Hyde teaching Jackie to be cool is just great.
The best part is Kitty laughing about Kelso leaving Lori after he’ll get her pregnant!
I think “That 70’s Show” has some really clever moments. There was one episode where Red and Kitty went out for an anniversary dinner and their favorite restaurant had become one of those crazy family theme restaurants like Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor.
They ended up at some diner and at the end of the scene, there was a freeze frame and Red and Kitty and the people in the diner looked just like those people in the painting, Nighthawks by Edward Hopper.
My favorite character is Hyde, who is probably the most intelligent of all of the, and is also a conspiracy theorist.
Oooh, they just showed the episode where Eric walks in on Red and Kitty doing it. Ha! One of the best lines EVER:
“Oh honey, were your father and I having intercourse?”
Comedy GOLD
I also despise Adam Sandler and really like That 70s Show, although I didn’t start watching it until recently and am getting the early season episodes all out of order in reruns.
I love Red and Hyde.
My roomie and I are getting my sister’s fiance hooked on it, too.
Another "hate Adam Sandler/like That '70s Show person here.
Oh yea. I hate Adam Sandler and have been a fan of That 70s Show since it premiered. And I watch the reruns all the time.
I just have to say that I find Donna really, really hot and I should see more of her.
Much more of her, if you know what I mean and I think you do.
I also hate Adam Sandler. Never liked him on SNL , There have been a few of his movies that I’ve found tolerable though.
I like That 70s Show. I graduated high school in 1977 and that show reminds me of “the good old days,” fairly easy to get high (and could be fairly open about it) and not too many cares or responsabilities. Not like today when one faces workplace urine tests and our attorney general covers up antique nude statues and has Tommy Chong incarcerated for selling glass pipes over the internet.
My parents like the show too, my mom liking Kitty and Fes the best.
I missed the season finale, our cable went out. (And they advertise that they’re much better than dish tv as sattelite reception goes out in bad weather. Right.) I had a feeling that Fes married Eric’s sister due to a quick picture of them laying in the back of a car or truck in the commercial leading to the last episode. Had no clue about Red though. Keep searching the schedule every week to see when it’ll be replayed.
As it is, I think That 70s Show is a pretty close portrayal of kids that age in that era. But the 80’s show just sucked big time.
