That 70's song-- Name That Tune for old fogeys

I got this first one a while ago: “Drop Kick Me, Jesus, Through the Goal Posts of Life.”

Next is Night Moves from Bob Seger. “Started hummin’ a song from 1962…”

  1. Wedding Bell Blues by the 5th Dimension, written by Carole King?

  2. We’re All Alone by Boz Scaggs

Did Rita Coolidge do a version of this Joni Mitchell song?

>By neurotic psychotic pigheaded politicians

“Gimme Some Truth” – John Lennon

>74. Or a chinese dentist, or a british queen

“Nice, Nice, Very Nice” - Ambrosia

>79) Magically bored on a quiet street corner.

“5:15” – the Who

>ddg-1. There’s no double-lock defense

“One White Duck/0^10=Nothing at All” – Jethro Tull (Yay!)

>ast6- He’ll say, “Excuse me- haven’t I seen you somewhere before?”

“The Rapper” – the Jaggerz

  1. Jackie Blue - the Ozark Mountain Daredevils

69)‘s already been answered. It’s “Claire” by Gilbert O’ Sullivan.

ast 9 is “Got to Give It Up” by Marvin Gaye

Yes on Baby Hold On To Me.

Jane makes it right under the mark released in 1979.

Huh? There’s no line anything like that in “Maggie’s Farm.”

And whoops, I see Fish42 had already answered “Gimme Some Truth.” So I’ll add:

>ddg-4. We just come from such different sets of circumstance

“Coyote” - Joni Mitchell

A note on how I do the “Haven’t been answered” list. I copy and paste the last list, read every post after it while adding and subtracting songs. That means that if you posted the answer on the previous page and it wasn’t caught it’ll appear on the new list, if the answer is posted while I’m making the list there is a very good chance that the answer will be missed. Also-- some of those are just me doing a really bad job of deleting, copying and pasting.

Just keep doing like ya’ll are doing. If I miss one (or two or five) and you mention it, it should be off on the next list.

OR, somebody else (like Fish) could jump right on in there and recap if there’s a new page. Com’on, you can do it. This last one only took me a half an hour.

ddg-8. Figured they’d kidnap a rich man’s son, make it in the world of crime / Machine Gun Kelly - James Taylor

Some extra clues on the ones I posted:

  1. But I know that he won’t stay
Freight train, each car looks the same, all the same (not a consecutive line cause that’s a dead giveaway)

  2. One day I met a girl named Sue
    She was feelin kinda blue

  3. When the cold wind’s streaming
    and the evening is still

  4. Go sit at the bakery
    and watch the buns rise

That’s not the song I was thinking of.

The next line for my songs that haven’t been answered yet:

btw 69. Somehow I knew it would be you, To change my gray skies to blue
…And it was strange when you called my name, Ever since that day I haven’t been the same

btw 72. I played all my cards, and that’s what you’ve done too
…Nothing more to say, no more ace to play
