There is trouble at my ole high school. The school, Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE, is a Catholic school run by the Norbertines, a small order of priests and brothers. The abbot apparently swooped in and canned most of adminstration, including the headmaster. If you’re interested (which I doubt), a newsarticle is [here](www.delawareonline.com : The News Journal)
An organization has sprung up in protest of this, and I came into work this morning to discover that I had been enrolled in their on-line newsgroup without my consent. That pissed me off in and off itself, but what really fucking pisses me off is the name of the group - the Diny Society.
It is named after the late Fr. Diny, who was headmaster for some 30+ years. Though I’m an atheist, Fr. Diny was a man to be deeply admired and respected, who had turned Archmere into an extremely good institution.
I was taught by the priests who got canned. And let me tell you, if Fr. Diny were around today, neither of them would be allowed to sweep up the floors, much less run Archmere. To name a group dedicated to supporting those incompetents after a man as good as Fr. Diny is a fucking disgrance.
Y’all can blow me.

I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but Norbertines? The Order of St. Norbert? Patron saint of what? A second cup of coffee, maybe? St. Norb, patron of those who forget to wear overshoes? The monastery is near Willmar, Minn. His feast day (a moveable feast) is the 3d Tuesday following the first full moon in November. Sorry, undoubtable a very pious man chocked full of merit and virtue with a direct line to some major saint.
Where is the horse?
I think that link should be this.
So Sen. Biden is an alum of your HS, Sua? Is that a good thing?
Well, his kids were nice enough, and he had a nice pool (I did some repairs on it once). Back in '88, I volunteered for his presidential campaign. My opinion of him now is pretty much one of indifference. He had a brief moment in the sun, and has faded since then.

Niiiiiiiiice.
You, sir, are the winner of my coveted Thread Title of the Week Award. Congratulations!
I didn’t know you were an Arch boy, Sua.
Of course, the real education is found in those public schools in the south of DE…
Sua: Brilliant thread title.
Better that than a Sallie boy.
All I know is that a chicken wasn’t my valedictorian.
