That moment..

This is going to sound as weird as hell, but often i get this feeling that i am leaving for one perfect moment u know what i mean? A moment that will be so beautiful, so out of this world that it will justify my existence…sometimes, i hear a song and i feel like im almost there…xhat kind of perfect moment? I dont know (no wisecracks about multiple orgasms)its so strange just thought i would share it…

Hey, pass that over here…

I think I know what you mean. I wasn’t sure at first, but when you mentioned music I got ya.

I could be driving home from work and a good song’ll come on the radio and I’ll be singing along, and suddenly my eyes’ll get damp and I’ll be all happy.

Bloody weird, but I guess brief moments of happiness are better than continued melencholy.

my thoughts actually tend to revolve around nature… standing in a beautiful place with the right song in my head and feeling out of this world u know?

I’ve had moments in the mountains (Hew Hampshire’s White Mountains, specifically) when I almost felt like crying with joy, it’s so beautiful there.

Cape Cod National Seashore is a close runner-up. Nothing but beach as far as you can see north and south, ocean to the east, and a hundred-foot sand dune to the west blocking any evidence of civilization from view.

Gah, now I’ve got that horrible pop song stuck in my head. * From this moment, life has something something * (I don’t have to know the words for it to annoy me).

Tv makes me happy, as do grilled cheese sammies. Sledding along a trail out in nowhere, with no other people, total quiet except the sounds of the dogs breathing and the swissssssh of the runners, that gives me joy.

Damn, my perfect moments all deal with porn and nachos.

I remember sitting up in bed a few weekends ago, reading a really good book—late-afternoon sun shining in through the wrought-iron balcony and lace curtains; two cats asleep by my feet; and thinking, “it doesn’t get any better than this.”

Then I had to go to my crapy job on Monday . . .

I’ve probably got one of the most unusual examples of a situation that gives me that “natural high”. First, some background: I collect, recondition and sell hubcaps found on the roadside. It’s basically a hobby that provides me with some spending money, but I’d like to turn it into a full-blown business sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later (I’m 19).

So, I’d say the situation that gives me that feeling the most is happening upon a huge pothole in the highway and finding dozens of hubcaps there. It’s kind of like stumbling upon a buried treasure or something. In March 1996, I found 49 hubcaps in one spot in Madison, NJ. That experience still ranks as one of the happiest and most exciting moments I can remember.

It’s kind of ironic, actually, that the same pothole probably ruined the day of 49 motorists, when they got to their destinations and discovered a hubcap missing
