That song makes me move (but not dance).

Inspired by this thread that’s sorta about haunting songs.

When I listen toJulia (Beatles) my head sometimes turns to the right in a “looking over my shoulder” motion… or a “listening to distance sounds” motion.

A common manifestation of song-inspired movement is pumping your fist at a certain point, or playing air guitar or air drums.

So, are there songs that provoke a semi-voluntary movement? But please, no dancing.

Everyone has done the air drums to Genesis. You know the song. You know when in that song.

There are many, but the first that came to mind is King Crimson’s In the Court of the Crimson King. In the middle of the song the only instrument heard is a cymbal being tapped four times, a pause, four more taps, pause again, and four more taps. I’m always compelled to pretend I’m the one playing the cymbal.

I think I know what song you’re referring to, but isn’t that a Phil Collins solo effort, and not a Genesis song?

That’s the one I was thinking of, & I didn’t do the air drums just now, but I did sort of whisper part of the beat.
