That's it I am done with movies

RIP movies (1888-2010)

Aww, c’mon. I loved watching Yogi Bear on Cartoon network when I was a kid… and it was syndicated by 30 odd years then.

Kids now, they don’t appreciate the classics. I told a kid (maybe 10 or 13?) to go get me a pick-a-nick basket and he had no damn clue what I was talking about. I was disgusted.

It’s about time these fucking heathens get educated on good, old fashion cartoons. Even if it does take putting CGI and 3D for it to happen.

I like the old cartoons. If you are a fan of the old cartoons you should be even more upset by this travesty. CGI and 3d are ruining movies. I would rather kids have no idea of who Yogi is than only know him from this movie

I think that this will revitalize the old cartoons.

Yes, this is going to be a bastardization – but you’re old, no one really cares what you think. It’s the kids they want to impress, kids younger than me (I’m 20). And if this… shit… is what it takes for them to get to know a classic cartoon character, then that’s fine.

Hell, people were probably crotchity about automatic transmission. “If you’re really a fan of driving, you wouldn’t be okay with this… travesty!”

Sounds like a great idea to me! Love’s me some Yogi!!!

Hey, when you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Meh. Not only am I not upset about this, I’m ok with it. If studios want to remake old cartoons into movies fine. Frankly I always felt cheated by the yogi bear cartoons. Not at all to my taste.

Alright maybe the Yogi Bear one isn’t so bad but is the last straw in a long line of bad adaptions.

Garfield. Garfield 2. How did more than one of those get made?

How did more than ZERO of those get made?

They made enough money at the box office for sequels to be financially viable.

Don’t like bad movies?
Don’t see them.

Don’t like gay marriage?
Don’t have one.

Seems simple enough to me.

But it is a bad influence on the children. I don’t want to live in a world in which kids only know Garfield from those movies and they think Johnny Depp is Willy Wonka

And my parents complained that I only know rock songs because modern artists do covers. Big deal. Believe it or not, if kids like something they’ll search out and watch the originals. If they don’t well, they’ll probably grow up to be accountants or something boring like that, anyway.

Gawd. what’s next, Bugs Bunny in 3-D? Mickey Mouse will appear eventually, but I hope they don’t ruin my two-dimensional warner bros. cartoons.

Sorry… I’m getting old. And get the hell off my lawn!

When are we gonna see Greedo shoot first in 3-D

It can’t possibly be worse than Marmaduke

I mean, Yogi Bear seems like a bad idea for a movie. But at least it’s scraping the bottom of the animation barrel.

Marmaduke…that’s just…unholy.

Pretty soon, apparently:

If they try to re-release every film made since 1938 or so in 3-D, I’m going to slit my wrists.

Don’t be too quick to say such things. They may come back to haunt you.

I think that poster looks all wrong - the shadows look funny, and the characters are too cartoony in appearance to be in what is otherwise a live action film.

Ugh. Not impressed.

I can’t believe you think this. It won’t.

When I saw this thread I rolled my eyes and assumed that the linked movie would just be bad. It was worse. I’m with the OP.

I mean come on. Justin Timberlake?

My death camps have just gained new entrants.

That’s revisionist history for ya.
ps. 3D porn? Does anyone really need a pair of big, hairy bollocks swinging out of their tv screen?
