You’re right about it not being addressed – but I really proposed it because I’d forgotten about President Mrs. Wilson. I proposed the three different scenarios because I was trying to distinguish between the fallout resulting from a current present, recent president and long-dead president having been supplanted.
Turns out, though, that we’re not even clear about how to handle a current impostor president. I find it shocking – shocking, I tell you! – that we don’t have legislation in place to handle the very real possibility of an impostor president. Did Kevin Kline teach us nothing?
I must admit I’m surprised that there’s no obvious single law that’s being violated, though. Obviously, the impostor president and his backers have done something wrong, but exactly what seems up to debate.
