The 14th Annual Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

Tom Brady needs to send Goodell a thank you basket. Those early season games he missed gave his body much needed rest. A shorter season always benefits a veteran player.

Patriots/Steelers was a fun matchup.

I hope we get a competitive Superbowl. But, I want to see Goodell hand Brady that trophy at the end.

Just goes to show the genius of Bill Belichick. Deflategate was a false flag operation orchestrated keep Brady rested and healthy enough to beat the Steelers in the conference championship game.

Wheels within wheels.

Fuck that. I want to see Green Bay steamroll the Cheatriots.

Thaaaaaaat would be difficult. Except in an alternate universe, after today’s early game… :smack:

I just became the biggest Falcons fan you ever saw. For a couple of weeks, anyway.

OK, so I’m the biggest Pats hater. Same difference.

It will just be a bit of a wait.

You and me and about 100 million others. My main reason is I don’t want Brady and Belichick to pass Noll and Bradshaw in SB wins. And while we’ve won 2 SB’s in the Big Ben era, no other team has caused me more internal pain than the Pats. Thank god for my local Giants knocking them a few notches.

This sort of thing has happened several times before in the past, and not the first time a Patriots fan has done it.
Maybe NFL teams need to take a different approach: Instead of a hotel, rent several large housing units/AirBNB type places for a game weekend, then having incredibly tight security for them, and also have them in several different locations over the city, so as to prevent mischief of this sort.

The Patriots are to the Steelers what the Cowboys were to the Packers in the 1990s.
Cowboys 3-0 against Packers in the playoffs in the 1990s; Patriots 3-0 against Steelers in the playoffs in the Brady/Belichick era.

Cowboys 3 Super Bowl championships to Packers’ 1 in the 1990s; Patriots 4 Super Bowl championships to the Steelers’ 2 in the Brady/Belichick era.

Well, except that the analogy breaks down because the Cowboys eventually broke up and went away, allowing the Packers to break through and play in two Super Bowls. The Pats having done the same thing for the Steelers.

As a Seattle fan I’m rooting for Dan Quinn to win a SB. And I like watching Julio just dismiss defenders on his way to the end zone. It’s fun.

I also wouldn’t mind seeing the Pats get stomped either, that’s a side benefit.

I’m just happy to not see two teams I can’t stand unlike last year.

Yes, if the facts were the opposite of what they are, you’d have a good point. No disagreement with that at all.

Maybe if your team were a lot more self-disciplined, they’d have been able to make a game of it. But they’re not, and they didn’t. As always, right?

Looks like your rapist QB has trouble with fully inflated balls, doesn’t it? This constant whining and excuse-making about the other guys cheating is really pretty damn sad. But it’s all we can expect.

You sure make a lot of assumptions. The Steelers are in no way ‘my team.’ If any team is, it’d be the Bolts, as they’re the only local pro team that didn’t desert me as a football fan, and the only one I’ve actually supported for my entire football life. (Actually, it’s the Trojans. I bleed crimson and gold. But that’s another story.)

I couldn’t care less about Big Ben personally. It’s not an active hate like with Brady, but attempts to goad me by denigrating Ben are bound for failure.

I actually used to like the Patriots, back when they had Pat on the helmet and guys named Grogan, Morgan, Fryar, and James played. They were one of those teams that you hoped would get over the hump but could never quite put it together, much like the Iggles.

Those days are gone forever.

The Steelers demonstrate “alternative sportsmanship”, like their whiny fans.

Yep, Rapistberger blamed his teammates and his coaches, then didn’t have the courage to say he was quitting.

Come to think of it, the pre-game excuse-making started with Tomlin, setting the tone by whining in Brown’s video (another example of poor self-discipline) by bitching about having one less day to prepare. A *winning *coach would have been worried about how to win. He also wouldn’t have to worry about one of his assistants getting drunk and arrested instead of preparing for the game. The way the Steelers were so fucking surprised at everything they’ve seen a jillion times before, and had no backup plan they could adjust to, were really just symptoms of the disease that afflicts seemingly everyone out there in Loserland.

Elvisl1ves, remind me, please, which is your team again, and how’d they do? Just curious, but not quite curious to dig through old posts.

The Patsies.

Please, please stop being a Patriots fan.

Thank you. He’s really not helping.

:smack: Change that to the Falcons. (Sorry, I swear I read that Green Bay won. Dammit!)

Oh well, just make sure the Patriots get their asses pounded into dust.

Thirded. Hey ElvisL1ves, didn’t you relocate to Orlando? Florida’s got some very nice NFL teams of its own, you know.
