Ok, I can see the potential. I don’t mind the characters. But someone has to smack the writers around if this show is going to make it. My 3 big problems with last night’s show.
1)When you encounter an unknown ship whose crew you know nothing about, please don’t transmite to them the Earth’s location before learning if they are hostile.
2)It was trully amazing how the communications officer could suddenly speak a language she had just been exposed to even better than the computer good. Did I say amazing? I meant totally unbelivable.
3)I know better than to even carry a piece of fruit from one contintent to another on this planet least I accidently introduce a new lifeform to a new area causing untold environmental problems. But these nitwits intentionally leave a new lifeform on another planet! “Oh he’ll adapt,” was the line used. Yeah, maybe he will. And maybe he’s an asexual creature that will multiply and then consume all other living life on the planet you just screwed with. I hope they visit it later and it’s planet Slugo. I know the writers despretely wanted to tie in the slug’s struggle to adapt with the communication officer’s struggle to adapt but I don’t know why. It was a stupid tie in. What were we suppose to think? “Oh the slug symbolozes her own struggle! How touching!” Sorry, big miss there. It was a slug. An ugly slimy slug at that. They should have fed it to the bat. The storyline had advanced scientific folk do something that advanced scientific folk in our time know not to do so it made the story too unbelieveable for me to fall into.
