I have you guys as pals now but no one was playing street fighter. I saw trion was playing mii street but I couldn’t get his mii on my ds. Any idea how to do that?
In order to get his Mii on your 3DS (besides just being an Avatar on a friend list), you need them to post their QR code as an image online (you can do this inside the Mii creator) and then snap a picture of it with your 3DS. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this using the friend codes–why I have no idea. Hopefully Nintendo will patch that.
I saw you online, but I haven’t been playing SF2 today. I think we still need to prearrange a time to do this!
That’s klunky and weird. But it’s still kinda cool that it can do that.
So I gave it a try. Here’s a link to my QR code.
I’ve got you all registered now, Nice Miis all:) I see that Cubsfan is playing Street Fighter at this very moment. If anyone would like to arrange a time to play SF let me know.
I’ve never been great at fighting games, but since this is the only online game right now I’m getting into it. I do use the lite mode since there’s no way I could pull off those special moves with any consistency otherwise, but I don’t abuse it and spam moves since there would be no fun in that. I still mostly lose but I’m getting to where I can pull off a win every so often at least.
So if anyone wants some easy prey let me know!
Oh yea, here’s my Mii if anyone is interested. Redirecting...
Ok. I’ve got you in my ds now. What a serious pain in the ass. I’ll try to post mine tomorrow.
The friends page claims you can send short messages back and forth bu I see no way to send any messages do you?
Thanks for the tip Red.
No problem. As for messages…well, you can’t really. Not yet (Nintendo has hinted they’ll be added soon). However, you can post Status Updates by going to the friend’s list and tapping “Write.”
OK, I’ve got him into my Mii maker. Anyone know how to get him over to the Mii Plaza now?
Check if you’re playing Lite mode or Pro mode. Pro removes the combo shortcuts, as I understand it, and you’ll only be paired with other Pro players.
It won’t remove one-move spammers, but the only solution to those is learn how to block their one move and then pound them into the dust.
You need to come across in StreetPass for that
I guess we are all learning how inconvenient and convoluted Nintendo has made this for us. I mean I’m a huge fan and frequent apologist but geeze.
For the record though apparently a big update is coming in May that may or may not include friend messaging abilities. Right now you can only do the status update thing with that goes out to everyone on your friends list and only allows for a small number of characters. So for now I think we should set up some games here.
By the way, I don’t live in a huge city so I haven’t come across a single person with street pass yet despite carrying it around with me everywhere. I guess I’ll never get to play that little RPG game. Has anyone gotten a random street pass yet?
Sheesh, what good does that do me?
Not yet, but I haven’t been carrying it around much. I’m wondering it it will do me any good to bring it with me when I get into New York City next month. I suppose it’s worth a shot.
I just don’t like leaving electronics on standby. Ever since my laptop’s mainboard accidently got fried in my backpack, I’ve been hesitant. I know that’s not going to happen with this, but I also don’t understand the appeal either. Ah well.
To answer your question, in the three times I’ve been out of the house with the system on standby, I’ve received no street passes. Perhaps I’ll walk through the mall with an EB in it one of these days!
Oh no, that’s fine. I’m a serious one move spammer, I just dislike people who do that WITH THE TOUCH SCREEN.
I changed all the settings to “any” except controls which is set to “Same as mine,” and there doesn’t appear to be anyone there in the lobby.
A bunch: almost 100 Miis in my plaza. Granted, most of them came from this past weekend’s Wondercon, but I’ve run into several before and after, whether it’s at theaters or restaurants.
Cyclic. I saw you playing sf but it’s not starting a match between us. How do we get a fight going?
Unfortunately there’s no way that I know of to invite a friend to play within the system itself. I think we’d have to externally prearrange a time then meet up in the friends section of the online battle menus. There’s talk they may allow for a PM system in a future update.
For now though just let me know when you want to fight and I’ll be there.
I’m game now if you are!
Sure. I’ll be waiting.
I’m looking for you in the “search by friend” mode, and no one’s turning up…you having better luck?
