The 81st Annual Academy Awards

What exactly was The Betrayal about? That producer’s malpractice lawsuit against his dentist? (I’m just kidding, really!)

Yes you are- but you are so right! knew she reminded me of somebody:smack:

I thought Ledger’s performance was the best.

Had a bit of The Emperor’s New Clothes thing going on about the actual movie but he was great.

Well, I think you’re in an extreme minority on this one.

Biggest laugh of the night: Tom Cruise saying “I don’t have a cat” in the Jimmy Kimmel ad.

Nice montage  Damn but Wanted was a pretty movie.

I thought Josh Brolin should have easily won. His performance in Milk was astounding.

I’m one of the rare people who prefers the Nicholson Joker. In fact, I like all of those cartoonish Batman movies better than the new, serious ones.

I acknowledge that, that appears to be true. It gets worse I thought *Hancock *was better done than The Dark Knight.

Fuck Benjamin Button. Make-up? Yes, it deserved that. But not visual effects, that should have gone to Dark Knight or Iron Man.

How the heck does Benjamin Button win best visual effects over Iron Man or Dark Knight?

Also, if this presages a surprise Brad Pitt win for BB, I’m gonna start throwing things.

It seems to be a Benjamin Button kind of evening.

Disagree. The CGI aging effect of Brad Pitt was seamless. When I saw the film I couldn’t even tell how it was done, it did not look CGI.

Man, double shaft on Iron Man. Gnight folks, I’m done.

I will have a shit fit if that happens. Mickey Rourke should easily take Best Actor. No one else even comes close, even though I loved Milk.

And there’s another one for Slumdog.

Serious question: What’s the difference between sound editing and sound mixing?

I love when they show people in the audience who are genuinely thrilled for the person winning/speechifying.

Which I never get tired of, unlike Benjamin Button. They deserve their awards, and they are sincerely humble about it.

Will Smith is funny! So charismatic, sigh…
